Doing Right Wrong?

He waited seven days, the time appointed by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and the people were scattering from him. So Saul said, "Bring the burnt offering here to me, and the peace offerings." And he offered the burnt offering.
1 Samuel 13:8-9 (ESV)

Doing right, wrong is never right. It was right to offer a sacrifice. It was not right that Saul offered the sacrifice. It was a good idea that Saul wanted to do right. It was a bad idea that Saul did right the wrong way. Wanting to please God is a good thing. Wanting to please God, yet disobeying Him, is a foolish thing.

God cannot be impressed, so if we are trying to impress Him, we are trying to do something that cannot be done. God would honor those who obey Him, but He is not going to be impressed by those who obey Him. He is pleased with those who have faith, but not amazed by those who have faith.

When you know God, you have faith.
