TO KNOW CHRIST AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN

TO KNOW CHRIST AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN

So Saul died for his breach of faith. He broke faith with the Lord in that he did not keep the command of the Lord, and also consulted a medium, seeking guidance. He did not seek guidance from the Lord. Therefore the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse. 1 Chronicles 10:13-14 (ESV Strong's)

Saul lost all that he could have had and could have been because of his “breach” of faith.

This statement alone would allow ministry leaders to be thankful that they did not have this terrible breach of faith, however, God goes on to describe what this breach of faith was.

It was something simple. He did not keep the command of the Lord. He consulted and sought guidance from someone other than God. Therefore, God put him to death.

How often do ministry leaders consult Peter Drucker instead of God? How many times have ministry leaders held conferences to seek each other’s wisdom, and spent hours chasing mans wisdom, while spending minutes seeking God’s wisdom?

Yes, in the counsel of many there is wisdom if the many are giving the counsel of God. Successful people hear one voice among the many, and they are skilled at having the many help them hear that one voice.

When we look to man for counsel, provision, wisdom, and guidance, we will be disappointed, for man is limited, sinful, and has a heart that is deceptive and wicked.

Perhaps we have defined what success looks like incorrectly, and therefore seek advice from those who are incorrect.

In Hebrews 11:6 we are told that without faith it is impossible to please God, and those who fail to please God fail in this life and the next.
