Privileged Position

"Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house."    Luke 10:4-7 (ESV)

All people need to trust God if they are to live a fulfilled life. Those who are set aside to serve Him as these disciples were are specially privileged to have nothing to depend upon other than God.

There will be those who understand the privilege of serving and trusting God, and those who will understand the privilege of supplying for those who serve, and there will be those who consider either end of the “deal” a burden.

One of the most privileged positions in life is that of knowing one’s total dependence upon God, whether you have resources or not. The real thrill comes in our faith, and eventually we all realize that faith is only valid when it is placed in the certainty of who God is and what He is about.
